Alternative Medicine - Basic Definition and Terminology


Alternative Medicine is defined as being : "Every available approach to Healing (and Wellbeing) which does not decisively fall within the professional realm of Conventional (Orthodox Clinical) Medicine".


Complementary Medicine refers to : "Every available approach to Healing (and Wellbeing) which decisively falls somewhere inbetween the professional realm of Conventional (Orthodox Clinical) Medicine and the professional realm of Alternative Medicine".


Alternative Medicine essentially becomes Complementary Medicine whenever it is used as a junior partner to Conventional (Orthodox Clinical) Medicine.


Conventional (Orthodox Clinical) Medicine essentially becomes Complementary Medicine whenever it is used as a junior partner with Alternative Medicine.


Alternative Medicine essentially becomes Integrative Medicine whenever it is used as a equal partner with Conventional (Orthodox Clinical) Medicine.
